The territory surrounding Anagni is quite important both for some extant monuments and for the interesting archaeological discovery.
Remains from a lithic industry (cobblestones) that go back to the Gunz-Mindel interglacial period (more than 700.000 years ago), have been found in Monte Marino.
Several objects made of bone and flinstone and also two
human molars and incisives belonging to the fossil species of the Homo erectus have been
found in Fontana Ranuccio.
